Peterborough United U18s travel to Old Northamptonians Sports Ground on Thursday evening (7:45pm) as they face Northampton O.N. Chenecks U18s in the semi-final of the U18 David Joyce Cup.

Jamal Campbell-Ryce’s men progressed into the last four of the competition after a comfortable 8-0 victory over Wellingborough Whitworth U18 Black before running out 1-0 winners over Kettering Town.

O.N. Chenecks saw a narrow 1-0 victory over Northampton Town U18s before overcoming AFC Rushden & Diamonds Scholarship Development in the previous round.

The under 18s also have a league fixture against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday morning and manager Campbell-Ryce has confirmed that his squad will be rotated for the David Joyce Cup game.

Speaking ahead of the game, Campbell-Ryce said: “We have another league on Saturday against Sheffield Wednesday, so there will be rotation in the squad for the trip to Northampton. The players that come in have to make sure they do what we ask of them and play to their capability.

“It’s another fantastic opportunity to try and get to a final. It will be a different type of game for the players, but that’s what we are here to do, teach the players and they have to adapt and be able to handle whatever the opposition throws at them. We will be expected to have loads of control of the game, so it’s about being calm and patient.”

Updates of the game will be provided as much as possible on The Posh Academy Twitter account (@theposhacademy).
