Archie Collins against MK Dons

Archie Collins netted a late winner to earn Posh a 2-1 victory at Milton Keynes Dons in their latest pre-season friendly.

Manager Darren Ferguson was not a happy man despite a pre-season friendly victory at Sky Bet League Two promotion favourites Milton Keynes Dons on Tuesday night, conceding that the win was one of very few positives from the performance.

That win was secured with two goals in the last 10 minutes, Collins firing home from the edge of the box, minutes after Chris Conn-Clarke had levelled the scores after good work down the right.

The first half was a quiet affair with the Dons opening the scoring on 13 minutes from big money summer signing Aaron COLLINS who powered a header past Alex Bass after a good cross from ex-Posh winger Nathaniel Mendez-Laing.

On 32 minutes, Posh hit the crossbar through Donay O'Brien-Brady, who cut inside onto his left-foot after good work from Cian Hayes.

Bass did well to keep out a low drive from Hepburn-Murphy on 40 minutes with Lucca Mendonca heading over from a Harley Mills corner at the other end.

Posh made wholesale changes at the interval but chances were few and far between with Declan Frith's effort, which was expertly saved by MacGillivray, the only chance at either end in the first 20 minutes.

On 82 minutes, Posh levelled the scoring as CONN-CLARKE swept a shot into the corner after good approach play from Frith and James Dornelly.

Three minutes from time, Posh got their noses in front as a free-kick was worked to COLLINS who took a touch before lashing a shot past the goalkeeper.
