Training in the dome

The football club are pleased to announce details of the International Pathway Programme.

Peterborough United are proud to launch the International Pathway Programme, a brand-new network of affiliate clubs playing girls and boys football from under 9s through to under 18s across the world with the Posh crest at the forefront.

The International Pathway Programme (IPP) will allow clubs to join the affiliate scheme and reap the rewards of a number of unique benefits including qualified sessions from Posh coaches for one week per year and invitations to face the club’s Academy sides at the idverde Training Ground.

As part of the membership, affiliate clubs receive the following:

  • Purchase of PUFC playing kits for all club players at a discounted rate to provide uniformity of brand
  • PUFC academy coach sent to your club to hold a football workshop and coach the coaches sessions for one week per year
  • An invitation to visit Peterborough United’s training ground for one week each year to play relevant age group matches against the Peterborough United academy squads
  • Annual international conference for football administrators to collaborate on best practice and learn from a leading professional football club
  • Commercial revenue opportunities created by international network of clubs

Co-owner Jason Neale said: “The IPP is a unique opportunity for us to build a network of clubs across the world playing under the brand of Peterborough United. Not only that, but it allows our Academy the opportunity to see talent within the youth sectors and work with those clubs to develop them and potentially bring them over to the UK.

“English football is hugely popular across the world, whether that be in North America or Australia and I believe this programme is the perfect way for us to lend our experience to them both on and off the field whilst also putting together a package that is attractive for potential sponsors and investors.

“We have already had interest in the IPP from clubs in Canada in part due to the interest developed through myself and Stewarts involvement in the football club and we look forward to developing relationships with other Academies across the world in the coming months.”

Kelowna United have become the first club to sign up to the Pathway Programme and Dante Zanatta from the Canadian-based side said: “We at Kelowna United are honoured to be the first club in Canada and North America to be selected to be part of this program to be affiliated with a club with such a rich history we look forward in developing this relationship to help grow the game here in Kelowna and Canada

“To be able to expose our players and staff to best practices, training opportunities and having staff visit here in Canada will only enhanced our program and the development of our players and staff. We also look forward in having some potential players, staff and teams visit Peterborough in the future”
