Tom O'Connor

Posh make their second signing of the day as Tom O'Connor completes permanent switch following departure from Wrexham.

Peterborough United are delighted to announce the permanent signing of defender Tom O'Connor, with the 27-year-old penning a three-year deal at the Weston Homes Stadium following his departure from Sky Bet Championship side Wrexham.

O'Connor, who enjoyed a successful loan spell with the club before a hamstring injury ended his season, has left the Red Dragons by mutual consent and put pen to paper on a long-term deal with Posh after completing a medical and the formalities at the Bespoke Builds Training Ground.

Manager Luke Williams was delighted that the club has secured Tom's services on a permanent deal: "Tom is an excellent player so we are really pleased to have him back with us. He is a strong character, it is brilliant news for us.

"We have got five players in the door ahead of the first day of pre-season testing with the whole squad. All the hard work starts very soon. We have a trip to Spain to look forward to, that will be a great opportunity for the group to get to know each other, so there is a lot to look forward to."

O'Connor made 19 appearances for Posh prior to his injury and made 112 appearances for Wrexham over a successful three-year period, which included back-to-back promotions.
