Posh suffered a 2-0 defeat to Luton Town in Sky Bet League One action at the Weston Homes Stadium.
In football, there are big moments, moments you have to make the most of and the word ruthless can be applied for both boxes. In recent weeks, as manager Robbie Savage said in his post-match press conference, it feels like the assessment of the game could just be replayed from the previous week.
Again, Posh had more possession, had more shots, more on target and had more touches in the opposition's box, but again, as Savage alluded too, it doesn't mean anything if you lose the game because the only stats that matter are the goals scored.
The Hatters scored inside the opening three minutes of the contest and within the first few minutes of the second half with goalkeeper Alex Bass not particularly concerned by anything else that came his way.
Posh hit the woodwork through Harry Leonard in the first half and had opportunities in the second half too, although nothing as clear-cut as in previous matches.
The visitors opened the scoring in fairly simple fashion, Kasey Palmer drifting inside and playing a lovely through ball for CLARK, who slipped the ball past the advancing Bass.
Leonard's effort in the first half from a right-wing centre looped onto the woodwork as Posh took their time to respond, with the visitors not exactly looking threatening to add to their lead before the break. Harley Mills curled a free-kick just wide of the target after a foul on Harry Ashfield.
A chance to get back into the game became harder two minutes into the second half as Palmer's cross was diverted past Bass at the near post by Liam Kelly.
Posh, buoyed by changes, then dominated the game for 25 minutes, creating plenty of opportunities from distance, Matt Garbett driving a shot wide of the target and seeing an effort deflected into the arms of a grateful Shea.
Brandon Khela's fierce drive was parried clear by Shea with substitute Sam Hughes, making his first appearance in around 18 months, heading over from a Garbett set-piece.
Leonard fired wide on the turn after a reverse pass from Bolu Shofowoke, who caused problems with his direct style.
Hughes made two superb blocks late on as the visitors tried to add a third as Posh piled bodies forward, but they didn't need to add to their tally as they ran out 2-0 winners.
