RETAINED

Following the conclusion of the 2024-2025 Sky Bet League One campaign, the club is now in a position to confirm the Retained List.

After extensive conversations with the players across the first team, Under 21s and Under 18s, the football club are now in a position to confirm the Retained List, with a number of players departing PE2 and several others made available for transfer.

Following the conclusion of their contracts, winger David Ajiboye and striker Kabongo Tshimanga have departed the club with our best wishes. Goalkeeper Jed Steer has requested that the final year of his contract be cancelled due to personal reasons.

The pair concluded the 2024-2025 campaign on-loan with Newport County and Swindon Town respectively with the latter scoring 13 goals for the Robins. Youngster Aaron Powell, who played 50 games during a loan stint with Kettering Town, has also been released.

As previously communicated, midfielder Hector Kyprianou, winger Kwame Poku and striker Ricky-Jade Jones will all depart at the end of their contracts. The club held discussions with all three about extending their stays in PE2 but they indicated they wanted to move on and they leave with our thanks for their efforts over their time at the club.

Kyprianou joined Posh from Leyton Orient and helped Posh reach the Sky Bet League One play-offs in successive seasons as well as playing an integral part as the club won back-to-back EFL Trophies, scoring in this year's 2-0 success over Birmingham City at Wembley.

Kyprianou made 140 appearances, scoring 16 goals and skippered the side during the 2024-2025 campaign. During his time at the club, he became a regular in the Cyprus national squad. He is now available on a free-transfer.

Poku joined Posh from Colchester United in August 2021 and has made a huge impact in PE2, making 147 appearances and scoring 30 goals.

He won back-to-back Sky Bet League One Player of the Month gongs in the early months of the 2024-2025 campaign and was on track to make it three until a hamstring injury ruled him out, ultimately seeing the winger miss nearly 20 league fixtures.

A regular assist-maker as well as goal-scorer, Poku was part of the Posh squad that reached the semi-finals of the play-offs in successive seasons and also helped the team win back-to-back EFL Trophies at Wembley Stadium.

The club are protected by a tribunal in terms of a transfer fee because Poku joined the club when he was under the age of 21, and a number of clubs have expressed an interest in securing his services.

Striker Ricky-Jade Jones progressed through the club's Academy, joining as an eight-year-old and went on to make 203 appearances, scoring 43 goals.

Jones was another to participate in back-to-back play-off semi-finals and feature in both EFL Trophy successes at Wembley Stadium.

Like Poku, the club is protected by a tribunal in terms of a transfer fee because Jones graduated through the club's Academy. Again, a number of clubs have expressed an interest in securing his services.

The club have offered Tayo Edun a contract with his current deal expiring this month, but as of yet, nothing has been agreed while talks remain ongoing with a number of other players entering the last year of their contracts.

Goalkeeper Nicholas Bilokapic, defender Jack Sparkes and strikers Bradley Ihionvien and Jacob Wakeling have been made available for transfer.

Mahamadou Susoho and Jadel Katongo have returned to their parent club Manchester City following the expiration of their loan deals. We would like to thank them for their efforts on behalf of the football club. Sam Hughes has also returned to parent club Stockport County. We would like to thank Sam for his tremendous contribution since joining in January.

Within the Under 21 group, Tyler Young, Ma'Kel Campbell, Justin Osagie and Jenson Sumnall have all been released while Ignas Sakalas, Max Beech, George Holley, Luke Gilbert and Tom Unwin have now left the club. We would like to thank them all for their efforts.

Young striker Bolu Shofowoke has signed a scholarship contract while a deal has also been offered to Lucca Mendonca. The club can confirm that contracts have been offered to Noah Freeman, Andre Changunda, Joe Davies and Fabian Claxton.
