Peterborough United are pleased to announce an exciting new partnership with VIA Academy, a sports technology company, which is revolutionising access to elite football training, community and retail.

Alongside Premier League side Fulham and Sky Bet Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers, Posh are thrilled to be opening our Academy’s doors and inviting players of all ages on a journey to experience life inside a professional football academy like never before.

With Posh moving to Category Two status in the last 12 months, which has also seen the build and completion of a new indoor dome at the Idverde Training Ground, it is the perfect time to get involved in an innovative project, which features an interactive app designed to bring players even closer to the club.

Kieran Scarff, Posh Academy Director, said: “Everyone within the Academy at Peterborough United are really excited to be involved in this project and it is a really good opportunity for us to showcase the work that we do on a daily basis. A lot of work has gone in behind the scenes in the last 18 months, moving up to Category Two and this app is a real chance for potential players to go behind the scenes and get access to our Academy coaching.

“We believe this app will provide an opportunity for youngsters to improve, learn new techniques and hopefully showcase their talents and for us as a football club, we are looking forward to developing the product alongside our friends at Queens Park Rangers, Fulham and of course VIA.”

Already, players within the Posh Academy are using the app to upload training drills and skills and over the course of forthcoming weeks and months, there will be plenty more content uploaded, but we want you to get involved!

VIA’s vision is to give to many what is only given to few; making quality elite sports training programs, goods and services universally accessible and affordable.

Players can start their journey by joining a global football community on “the pitch”, alongside academies and other players from around the world.  On the pitch, players can learn, connect, and challenge themselves and each other, and upload videos to show the Academies and their community what they can do.

Soon players can subscribe to become a member of Peterborough United’s Virtual Football Academy to help develop their game, with new features that give players insider knowledge and access to Academy training, players and coaches.

The app is available on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store and can be utilised by players of all ages.
