Posh Women manager Jake Poole took plenty of positives from his side's first pre-season outing.
Peterborough United Women manager Jake Poole was pleased with a behind closed doors workout at FAWNL Division One Midlands outfit Sutton Coldfield Town on Sunday afternoon as his side got their preparations for the new campaign underway with their first friendly of the month.
Poole used the game to give the majority of his squad minutes, while a number of trialists were also involved with the management running the rule over potential new recruits.
"The game was about getting minutes into the legs of the players, looking at some new players, some players we have in on trial and it was also an opportunity to have a look at the group in it's new form.
"There were plenty of positives to take from the performance and things that we can work on, but with the first game, it is just ensuring that we try and ensure everyone gets game-time.
"I want to say a big thank you to Sutton Coldfield for hosting the game, they are a team that try and play football in the right way, we admire the way they go about things and were great hosts. We wish them well for their upcoming campaign," Poole said.
Romy Saunders, who was announced as the first summer recruit, was among the scorers in a 5-0 win. Posh are next in pre-season action on Wednesday 15th July with Oxford United providing the opposition.
