Posh Women boss Jake Poole was pleased with his sides' performance in the pre-season win at Notts County as preparations continue ahead of the new campaign.
The Peterborough United Women continued their positive pre-season campaign with a comfortable 3-0 victory over FAWNL Division One Midlands side Notts County on Sunday afternoon.
Lauren Wilshaw, Camille Jenkins and Ellie May were on target for Posh with Poole's side also hitting the crossbar in the second half through summer signing Romy Saunders.
Poole said afterwards: "First and foremost, I would like to thank Notts County for the game, I have a lot of good friends at the club and it is the sixth time we have come up against each other in the last two years. We will also see each other again in the cup in a few weeks time.
"I thought we moved the ball really well today, you could see the patterns of play that we have been working on in training and we probably could have scored more goals.
"We have been clinical in previous games, whereas today, we could have been tidier in front of goal, but it was a good workout for the whole squad and lots of positives to take.
"It was good to get another clean sheet, Neive made a good save in the first half, but we kept them quiet otherwise on the whole. Spurs Under 21s will offer a different challenge on Sunday, they will be a good side and a good test for us.
"There is always opportunity for everyone in the squad, the first few games of pre-season have allowed us to take a look at everyone, some players have been really consistent in their performances and some have forced themselves into the decision-making, which is what I want as a manager," Poole said.
