Women’s General Manager Sam Winch has penned the following letter to address the supporters’ role in what has been another successful year for the women’s teams.
Home comforts, an unbeaten start to the season and cup memories made: Sam Winch attributes this year’s success to the players’ tireless efforts and fantastic support away from the field, in an open letter to the supporters.
He reflected: I would like to take this opportunity to wish all supporters, players, staff, and volunteers of Peterborough United Women and Girls Academy, a very Happy New Year.
To our loyal supporters, parents and sponsors - thank you for your unwavering support throughout the year. Your passion and commitment to the women's section is what drives us to give our best on and off the pitch.
To all of our players - I am proud of the hard work and commitment you have shown, and the continuous dedication to improve every day has been vital to our first team's mid-season success and academies' individual development.
To our staff and the many volunteers that support us - thank you for your tireless efforts in making our club run smoothly. Together, we have created a strong and supportive community that continues to pave the way for women's football in the city and further afield.
Wishing you all a joyful break with family, friends, and loved ones as well, as a very happy new year ahead. 2026 promises to be a challenging, yet exciting year for the club, and I look forward to seeing you all cheering our teams on throughout the second part of the season and beyond.
Thank you again for your endless support and belief in Peterborough United Women Football Club. From all players and staff, we wish you a wonderful festive season and a fantastic New Year!
Best wishes
Sam Winch
