The Posh Under 21s are in Premier League Cup action on Friday night as Sam Gaughran's side travel to face Newcastle United (7pm).
The Peterborough United Under 21s are back in Premier League Cup action on Friday evening with a trip to face Newcastle United at the home of Whitley Bay.
Posh have won one and lost one of their group games so far with a victory over Luton Town at Kenilworth Road and a defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest at the Weston Homes Stadium.
Lead Under 21s Coach Sam Gaughran said: "It will be a tough game. In the last few years, Newcastle have invested heavily in their Academy so this is the first year that you will see a lot of those players coming through.
"It will be a good test and one we are looking forward too. Last time out we won 6-3, so there was plenty of entertainment on show, obviously we want to be a bit more defensively solid, but the lads go into the game full of confidence."
Defender Sam Hughes won't feature for the Under 21s as he is back in the first team squad, so it is likely to be a youthful squad on duty.
Updates of the game will be available on the club's Academy X account, which can be found here
