Malik Mothersille celebrates scoring against Bolton Wanderers

Malik Mothersille netted a brace as Posh came back from 2-0 down to earn a share of the spoils against Bolton Wanderers.

Peterborough United will face Oxford United in the Sky Bet League One play-offs as Darren Ferguson's men concluded the regular campaign with a 3-3 draw against Bolton Wanderers at the Weston Homes Stadium thanks to a double from Malik Mothersille.

It was a nightmare start for Posh with the visitors opening the scoring inside five minutes as midfielder Kyle DEMPSEY headed home from close-range after a left-wing centre.

The Trotters doubled their lead on eight minutes as Hector Kyprianou was penalised for a foul in the box allowing Dion CHARLES to slot home from 12-yards.

On 17 minutes, Mothersille saw a shot saved by Baxter after good work by Ephron Mason-Clark as Posh tried to get back into the contest.

Posh had a great chance to get on the score-sheet on 39 minutes as Mason-Clark was sent through on goal only to see his effort go wide of the far post.

Charles fired over two minutes before half-time as Bolton came close to a third. There was a change of official at half-time as referee Bobby Madley was withdrawn due to a calf strain.

On 49 minutes, Posh did get on the score-sheet as MOTHERSILLE tapped home from close-range after excellent work down the right hand side by David Ajiboye.

Mothersille saw an effort cleared off the line on 59 minutes after a Randall corner caused a bit of panic in the Bolton defence.

Archie Collins saw a drive from distance beaten away by Baxter, who also got a hand to a Mason-Clark low strike before Posh drew level as RANDALL was sent clean through by Mason-Clark and finished with aplomb, dinking his shot over the goalkeeper.

Toal was cautioned for a foul on Ajiboye before substitute Dan Llundulu sent a volley over the top from close-range.

On 78 minutes, Posh got their noses in front for the first time in the contest as MOTHERSILLE tapped home after superb work from Randall.

On 82 minutes, Bolton were back level as a cross from substitute Nathanael Ogbeta was finished by Cameron JEROME.
