The Posh players celebrate scoring against Plymouth Argyle

Jimmy-Jay Morgan continued his fine start to life at Posh with the only goal of the game as Darren Ferguson's men made it back to back wins.

After ticking off their first home win of the season against Wycombe Wanderers last Saturday, Peterborough United recorded their first away victory of the campaign thanks to a 1-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle at Home Park.

Jimmy-Jay Morgan was in the right place at the right time to score the only goal of the game in the first half and in truth, Posh had good chances to extend their lead in the second half.

Goalkeeper Alex Bass produced two fine saves, particularly the one in the second half to push an acrobatic Tolaj effort onto the crossbar.

Plymouth started the game well, but didn't create too much in front of goal and Posh grew into the contest,. A fine move led to a chance from the spot as Matthew Garbett picked out Morgan, who was brought down in the box by goalkeeper Ashby-Hammond.

Harry Leonard stepped up from 12-yards, but saw his spot-kick expertly saved by Ashby-Hammond. It didn't deter Posh though and a fine team move led to the opening goal.

Morgan and Leonard linked well with Brandon Khela, his pass to Peter Kioso was timed right and the skipper's shot was parried into the path of MORGAN by the goalkeeper who made no mistake.

The home side came close to leveling the scores as a cross was met by Tolaj at the near post, the header looped over Bass and onto the crossbar, it bounced down via the inside of the post and Bass was there to claw away the ball with Sorinola firing the rebound into the side-netting.

Posh had good chances in the second half with substitute Cian Hayes picking out Leonard, who saw his shot fly over the crossbar.

Carl Johnston had appeals for a spot-kick turned down by the referee before Bass produced a superb reflex stop to keep out Tolaj's acrobatic overhead kick.

Posh saw out five minutes of extra time professionally to record a 1-0 win to send the supporters who made the long journey to the South West, home happy.
