Posh have two games on Saturday with a home clash against Hull City and a trip to Scunthorpe United.

Peterborough United have two pre-season friendly fixtures on Saturday with a home fixture against Sky Bet Championship clash against Hull City at the Weston Homes Stadium (4pm) with another XI in action at Vanarama National League side Scunthorpe United (3pm).

Grant McCann will take charge of the game against his former club, Hull, who will provide a strong test ahead of the start of the League One season next term. Posh suffered their first defeats in pre-season during the week with a 1-0 defeat at King’s Lynn and a 2-0 home reverse to Luton Town, although both performances were pleasing in large aspects.

McCann has confirmed that Joe Ward, Benjamin Mensah, Harvey Cartwright and Hector Kyprianou won’t be risked on Saturday due to slight knocks. Kyprianou limped out of the defeat to Luton with an ankle injury, but the club have received good news from the scan.

Oliver Norburn and Dan Butler are continuing their rehabilitation from long-term injuries with no timescale on their return. Hull have strengthened their squad during the close-season with a number of arrivals from Turkey set to feature.

“Like Luton, Hull will provide a really good test for us ahead of the first league game next week. There were lots of pleasing aspects from our display against Luton, we created plenty of opportunities and restricted Luton to very few chances so we want to take the positives into this game,” McCann said.
