Posh Women face QPR Women on Wednesday evening as pre-season preparations continue.

Dan Lawlor’s side are set to travel down the A1 to the Imperial College Sports Ground to face QPR Women on Wednesday evening (7:45pm) as part of their ongoing pre-season schedule, with the team looking to build on their first win of pre-season following the 4-1 victory over Royston Town Women on Sunday.

After finishing fourth in the Division One South East league last season, and a victory on the last day of the 2021/22 campaign, QPR will be looking to build on their winning momentum as the new season edges closer.

Team News

Posh will be without midfielders Megan Parrett, Beatriz Borque, and new signing Eden Bailey for Wednesday’s fixture against QPR, as well as forward Tara Hicks. Keir Perkins, Stacey McConville and Kayleigh Aylmer will also be unavailable for Lawlor’s side.

Lucie Mugridge is set to play her first minutes for the club after signing for the club earlier this week, while Faith Horner and Jess Driscoll are set to make their return to the squad.

From The Gaffer

“It’s an opportunity for the girls who might not normally play as much to come in and impose themselves on the game to show us what they can do, and what they are made of. The squad is how it is, but it’s no excuse because we’re still getting out a strong starting XI and getting work into them, so, I’m not overly concerned about the squad too much because we’re hoping to get a couple of players back in, but we’ll wait and see.

“It will be a test against a team that are at our level and finished well last season, but just a different part of the county. It will be interesting to see how we get on and build on Sunday’s result.”
