Crowd at Abbey Lawn

Posh Women back in league action on Sunday afternoon (2pm).

Peterborough United Women return to FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands action on Sunday afternoon (2pm) as they face Long Eaton United Ladies at the Abbey Lawn.

Dan Lawlor’s previous league fixture was against Northampton Town in October, surpassing over 100 days since Posh Women were last in action in the competition. Long Eaton United Ladies fell to a 3-0 defeat to Solihull Moors Women last weekend, the first game under new management for the side.

The two sides met in September as Posh ran out 5-1 winners at Grange Park, with Megan Lawlor grabbing a brace alongside Keir Perkins, Cassie Steward and Niamh Connor also chipping in with goals.

Team News

Posh remain without Zaiga Lacite, Elloise Copson, Beatriz Borque and Eden Bailey who are all still out with injuries.

Dan Lawlor is expected to name a full squad for the first-time since the New Year, with midfielder Stacey McConville set to be involved in the matchday squad after recovering from an injury she suffered in August.

From The Gaffer

“We have had some good cup runs, with a really good one in the FA Cup and we are still in the County Cup. We had a good run of form, in terms of performance and results, and now we have to take that into the league to make sure we start kicking on, as I personally feel we are sat in a false position in the table.

“When you start to look at teams and where they are positioned, then you start to create problems. We need to make sure we turn up with the right attitude, nothing other than we work harder than them to win the game and if we fall short of that, then we won’t deserve any result.”

Ticket News

Tickets are priced at £4 for adults, £3 for seniors, £2 for under 18s and free for under 12s. Supporters will be able to pay on the gate.
