The Women entertain Wem Town Ladies at Idverde training ground on Sunday (3pm).

Peterborough United Women welcome Wem Town Ladies to the Idverde training ground on Sunday afternoon (3pm) in their final FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands game of 2021, as Chloe Brown’s side look to build on last weekend’s superb result.

A depleted Posh side recorded an 3-1 victory over Sporting Khalsa after a brace from Keir Perkins, as they return to action at the Idverde training ground for the first-time in the league since early October. Wem Town haven’t been in League action since mid-November, where they defeated Holwell Sports 2-0 at the Butler Sports Centre.

Team News

Posh remain without midfielder Ellen Marson, but she returned to training this week and could be back available in the new year. Stacey McConville suffered an ankle injury in the victory over Sporting Khalsa on Sunday and will be unavailable for this weekend game, joining Megan Parrett and Cassie Steward on the sidelines.

Milly Ramm made her debut last weekend for the first-team and put in an impressive performance, grabbing an assist for the opening goal, and could once again be involved for the visit of Wem Town on Sunday.

From the Gaffer

“We want to make sure we finish 2021 on a high and go into the game this weekend with the same performance we have seen over the last two weeks, hopefully build that confidence going into the break and for when we return in the new year. Wem Town have had some good results in the last month or so and pulled in a few new signings, but they will be one of the teams will be fighting against for certain places in the table, so we need to make sure we go into Sunday’s game with confidence.”

Ticket News

Fans will be able to watch the game at the Idverde training ground. Admission is £3 for adults. To gain access, come to the main gate, where you will be met by a steward and directed where to go.

The Reserves

It’s also the final game of 2021 for the reserves as they travel to face league leaders Derby County Women Development side at Mickleover Sports Club in an East Midlands Women Regional Football League fixture. The two sides met in the reserves fixture just last weekend, where The Posh fell to a 3-0 defeat but will be keen to end the year with a victory in the league.
