Peterborough United will look to put aside their FA Cup disappointment as they welcome Northampton Town Development side to the Idverde training ground on Sunday afternoon (3pm) in the Second Round of the Northants County Cup.
Chloe Brown progressed to this stage of the competition after an emphatic victory over Netherton United Ladies & Girls development side back in October, and will be hoping to lift silverware at the end of the season after winning the competition back in 2019.
Hollie Lewis and Piper O’Neill returned to the matchday squad last Sunday in the FA Cup, with the former getting 45 minutes worth of action while O’Neill replaced Ellen Marson for the final 15 minutes in the defeat against Long Eaton United Ladies.#
They are likely to be involved again on Sunday as they continue to regain full fitness ahead of a busy few weeks in December.
From the Gaffer
“After last Sunday's disappointment, we want to go into this and win, and with the right attitude but we know this will be a highly competitive game and the players need to work hard to get a result. We don’t know much about Northampton Town, but they’re in a lower league than us, however, as we have seen over the last couple of weeks, we need to enter the game with the correct attitude and avoid any potential upset.”
Fans will be able to watch the game at the Idverde training ground. Admission is £3 for adults. To gain access, come to the main gate, where you will be met by a steward and directed where to go.
