Posh v Huddersfield Town

Posh welcome Huddersfield Town to the Weston Homes Stadium for the first Sky Bet League One game of the season (5.30pm).

Peterborough United entertain Huddersfield Town at the Weston Homes Stadium in Sky Bet League One action on Saturday evening (5.30pm) with Darren Ferguson's men looking to make a positive start to the new campaign after a positive pre-season programme.

The Terriers arrive as one of the favourites for an immediate return to the Championship with Michael Duff at the helm. It promises to be an entertaining game in front of a large crowd in PE2.

TEAM NEWS

Posh are sweating on the fitness of newly-appointed captain Hector Kyprianou, who is struggling with a knee injury. Archie Collins is expected to be skipper if the Cypriot doesn't make it.

Ryan De Havilland will be out until the end of September with a knee injury while left-back Rio Adebisi is expected to be missing until the end of November.

Huddersfield have made a number of eye-catching signings during the summer including Herbie Kane who worked with Duff at Barnsley.

ONE TO WATCH

Antony Evans

Hailing from Liverpool, attacking midfielder Evans was on the books of both Merseyside teams as a young player before settling in long-term at the Everton academy. After numerous loan deals and a spell abroad, Evans signed for Bristol Rovers and spent three years for the Pirates.

Second top scorer and second in their minutes played for the season, his only matches missed came due to the number of yellow cards he had accumulated. A fan favourite at his previous side, he will be looking to build on those positive experiences with Town, joining the Club in an exciting week that has also seen Mickel Miller and Herbie Kane agree multi-year contracts in HD1.

MANAGER QUOTES

"I am really looking forward to the game. It is good to be at home for the first game, it feels like it has been a while since that happened. Huddersfield have sold out of their allocation or near enough, so it should make for a really good atmosphere. We have had a positive pre-season, yes we have picked up a few injuries, but none of those have been muscle injuries. We have good depth to the squad I feel and that is what we wanted," Darren Ferguson said.

TICKET NEWS

The crowd is expected to be over 10,000 with Huddersfield close to selling out of their allocation, which is in the away section of the North Stand and half of the GH Display Stand. Posh fans can purchase tickets in E5 and E6. E4 is already sold out.
