Posh v Exeter City

A look ahead to the Sky Bet League One clash between Posh and Exeter City at the Weston Homes Stadium (3pm).

Peterborough United welcome Exeter City to the Weston Homes Stadium in Sky Bet League One action on Saturday afternoon (3pm) with Darren Ferguson’s men looking to build on the 1-0 victory at local rivals Cambridge United last time out.

Ephron Mason-Clark scored the only goal of the game at the Cledara Abbey Stadium to keep Posh inside the top six ahead of the clash with the Grecians, who came out on top when the two sides met at St. James Park earlier this year.

Gary Caldwell’s men drew 1-1 with Fleetwood Town last time out and come into the game looking for the points to move further clear of the drop zone.

TEAM NEWS

Posh will be without midfielder Jeando Fuchs, who is expected to miss the rest of the season with a knee injury sustained in the win at Cambridge. Fuchs is due to meet the specialists on Friday to determine the full extent of the damage, but boss Ferguson believes it is a bad injury.

Jacob Wakeling and Will Blackmore remain on the side-lines, while Vontae Daley-Campbell is not expected to be in the first team squad yet after two run-outs for the under 21s. Sonny Cox and Yanic Wildschut are both pushing for starts for the visitors while Cheick Diabate and Will Aimson are fighting for a spot at the back.

ONE TO WATCH

Posh supporters will know all about Mo Eisa following his time in PE2 and he has already provided the Grecians with extra fire-power, netting his first goal for the club in the win at Wigan Athletic. Eisa is on-loan from Sky Bet League Two side MK Dons after finding himself out of the starting line-up and will be looking to kick on between now and the end of the season. An excellent finisher, Eisa will be a threat inside the box.

FROM THE MANAGER

“I don’t think Exeter will change much from when we went to their place. On that day, we didn’t deserve to lose the game, but we did and we know there were factors in that. We have a lot of home games remaining and we need to make the best use of those games. We need to take the confidence from the last two performances into this game,” Darren Ferguson said.

The GH Display Stand is closed for this fixture with Exeter City fans housed in the away section of the North Stand. Just under 300 tickets have been sold by the visitors. Posh fans can buy tickets at the Weston Homes Stadium Ticket Office and online at www.theposhtickets.com.
