Posh Vs Birmingham

Posh host Birmingham City at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3pm) in a pre-season friendly.

Peterborough United welcome Sky Bet Championship side Birmingham City to the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday afternoon (3pm) as Darren Ferguson’s men fulfil their first home fixture of the pre-season campaign.

The Blues will provide a tough test for Posh after a summer of notable recruitment, which included the arrival of someone very familiar to those in PE2 – Siriki Dembele. The winger, who was part of the club’s promotion to the Championship, could make his first appearance against Posh in the fixture.

Ferguson’s men have beaten Leicester City, Stamford and Bedford Town during pre-season to date with a draw against Colchester United and defeats against Premier League outfit Luton Town and Peterborough Sports.

TEAM NEWS

Posh have another fixture behind closed doors taking place at the same time as the fixture with Birmingham City so the majority of the squad will get 90 minutes under their belt ahead of the big kick-off at Reading next Saturday.

Midfielder Jeando Fuchs missed the win over Bedford after suffering a tyre blow-out on route, but he will be involved in one of the two fixtures. Goalkeeper Fynn Talley, who completed his move to the club earlier this week, could also be involved.

FROM THE GAFFER

“Birmingham will provide us with a really good test. They have had a good summer in terms of recruitment, they have brought in some quality players including Siriki and they will complete a campaign for us, which has given us plenty of different types of opponents. It will be good to play at home in front of our own fans, we are all looking forward to that,” Ferguson said.
