Posh travel to the New Lawn Stadium on Saturday to face Duncan Ferguson’s Forest Green Rovers.

Peterborough United make their first ever trip to the New Lawn Stadium on Saturday (3pm) as Darren Ferguson’s men face Duncan Ferguson’s Forest Green Rovers in Sky Bet League One action with Posh looking to make it three wins from three.

Forest Green Rovers were beaten 2-1 at Shrewsbury Town in the last few minutes at the Montgomery Waters Stadium while Posh go into the game on the back of a 2-1 victory over Portsmouth thanks to a double from skipper Jonson Clarke-Harris.

Posh won the only previous meeting between the two sides 4-1, Ricky-Jade Jones and Harrison Burrows on the score-sheet back at the Weston Homes Stadium earlier in the campaign.

TEAM NEWS

Posh secured the signing of Chesterfield striker Kabongo Tshimanga ahead of the January transfer window and he goes straight into the squad for the meeting with Rovers. Midfielder Ollie Norburn is making great strides in his rehabilitation from a serious knee injury and could return to under 21 action in February.

Forest Green have made multiple signings ahead of the window closing and manager Duncan Ferguson could hand up to five debuts against Posh including Reading forward Jahmari Clarke, 19, who joined ion a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

Clarke, 19, broke into Reading's first team last season and is known as a strong forward who is good in the air. He played 12 Championship games for the Biscuitmen last season and also scored six goals in 12 Premier League 2 games. He has also played for National League side Woking and has scored three times in five appearances for Jamaica Under-20s. Former Posh front man Mathew Stevens joined Walsall in a loan deal ahead of the deadline, while goalkeeper Luke McGee joined Derby County.

ONE TO WATCH

Jordan Garrick (pictured below) scored on his debut in that defeat to Shrewsbury Town and the former Lincoln City loanee certainly has the X-Factor. A direct attacker, Garrick spent his early career with Swansea City and the Jamaican will be looking to make Gloucestershire his home after numerous loan spells in his career.

FROM THE GAFFER

“Forest Green have made quite a few signings and have obviously changed their manager, so in terms of preparation, there is a little bit of the unknown because Duncan only had 48 hours ahead of the Shrewsbury game to implement his ideas. They were unfortunate to lose that game because they performed well and were just undone late on, but it is about what we do on the day. I have been pleased with the players since I have come back,” Ferguson said.

TICKET NEWS

Tickets are on sale until 3pm on Friday from the Weston Homes Stadium Box Office and online at www.theposhtickets.com. All seated tickets have sold out but terrace tickets remain. The game is not all-ticket, but fans are urged to purchase in advance to avoid any potential disappointment. The club have sold 691 tickets up until 4pm on Thursday.

PLAYED FOR BOTH

As previously mentioned, Mathew Stevens (pictured below middle) and Luke McGee (pictured below left) have both departed the club, so only midfielder Reece Brown (pictured below right) remains as a player with links to Posh. Brown was a promotion-winner with Posh under Darren Ferguson back in 2020.

Other players to have played for both clubs include: Jerome Binnom-Williams, Josh Low, Scott Rendell and Reuben Reid.
