Fleetwood Town v Posh

A look ahead to Saturday’s Sky Bet League One clash between Fleetwood Town and The Posh at Highbury (3pm).

Peterborough United travel to Highbury to face Fleetwood Town in Sky Bet League One action on Saturday (3pm) with Darren Ferguson’s men looking to build on a good run of form in front of their own supporters.

The Cod Army are on a poor run of form, but they will still provide a tough test with two former Posh players in their squad who will be looking forward to facing their former employees in Jack Marriott and Ryan Broom.

TEAM NEWS

Posh goalkeeper Will Blackmore remains on the sidelines, but other than that Darren Ferguson has reported a clean bill of health for his squad. Jeando Fuchs came through 90 minutes unscathed for the under 21s against Sheffield Wednesday on Friday afternoon so won’t be involved in the North West with Jacob Wakeling and Emmanuel Fernandez also featuring against the Owls.

Fleetwood are unable to field on-loan Posh striker Kabongo Tshimanga as part of the terms of the agreement while Lee Johnson has a number of injury worries to contend with. Promise Omichere is rated as doubtful for the meeting with Darren Ferguson’s men.

ONE TO WATCH

Jack Marriott (pictured below) needs no introduction to the Posh supporters after two spells in PE2. He has netted five goals for the Cod Army this season but hasn’t found the back of the net in the last seven fixtures. He has the ability to play on the shoulder, but can also drop deeper to get involved in the play and if he plays alongside Jayden Stockley, they could cause plenty of problems for the Posh back-line.

FROM THE MANAGER

“It is always a tough place to go, whenever I have been there as a manager, it has always been a very competitive game. They have obviously changed manager in recent months, but they still have a lot of talented players within their squad and a few we obviously know a lot about. We need to improve our away form, we are conceding too many goals away from home at the minute,” Darren Ferguson said.

TICKET NEWS

The game is not all-ticket and there is no price rise on the day for Posh supporters. As of 4pm on Friday, 342 tickets had been sold for the fixture.

POSH+

The game is available to watch on Posh+ for overseas subscribers with £10 match passes available. Audio passes are available for £5 domestically. Nilesh Patel and Chris Dowsett are on commentary.

HEAD TO HEAD

Jonson Clarke-Harris scored the only goal of the game as Posh beat Fleetwood Town 1-0 at Highbury during the promotion-winning campaign.
