Action between Posh and Bromley

Vernon Masara made an impact from the substitutes bench as Posh earned a 1-1 draw at Bromley in awful conditions.

Peterborough United picked up a point in difficult conditions at Bromley as substitute Vernon Masara scored a 93rd minute equaliser to cancel out an early effort from Michael Cheek.

Posh got themselves into some excellent positions in the game, but a poor final ball, particularly from wide areas, was their downfall and goalkeeper Brad Smith only had two efforts on target to deal with - one of which was the goal.

With storm Boelo doing it's worst, conditions were a challenge for both sides with driving wind and high winds and it was the hosts who made the most of the wind at their backs in the opening quarter.

CHEEK was the man to break the deadlock as a fortunate ricochet landed at his feet - the experienced front man making no mistake with his right-foot.

Ethan Williams, who was excellent in the 10, tested Smith with a curling effort that was pushed around the post but the best chance fell to Harry Leonard, but he headed well wide after a well-worked corner and good delivery from Liam Kelly.

Harley Mills curled a free-kick wide of the target on 36 minutes with Posh dominating the ball without creating chances on goal.

Leonard saw two deflected efforts go wide in the early exchanges of the second half before Smith did well to punch under pressure from the Posh number nine.

Substitute Ormerod glanced a header wide of the target before Mendonca produced two superb bits of defending to prevent the home side from adding to their tally late on.

Those defensive heroics were rewarded three minutes into stoppage time as MASARA collected a pass from Edwards and rounded Smith before firing into the net.
