Kyrell Lisbie

Posh have completed the signing of Kyrell Lisbie on a long-term contract, beating off competition from a host of other EFL clubs to secure his signature.

We are pleased to announce the signing of Kyrell Lisbie from Vanarama National League side Braintree Town for an undisclosed fee, with the 21-year-old putting pen to paper on a three-year contract, with the option of an additional year.

Lisbie, who scored 13 goals for Braintree last season was named the Sportsbeat Young Player of the Year at the National Game Awards (in association with Isuzu) last week after an eye-catching campaign.

Lisbie hails from a famous footballing family, with his twin-brother Kyreece joining him at Braintree during a loan spell from Colchester United this season, while his dad, Kevin, had a long and successful career, which included an 11-year stint at Charlton Athletic and ten caps for the Jamaica national team.

Manager Darren Ferguson is delighted to secure the signature of the highly-rated Lisbie is and is looking forward to working with him.

"Kyrell is a player that we have kept an eye on for the last few months. We have had some very impressive reports on him as well and we are pleased to get the deal done.

"He can play in different positions along the front line so that gives us good flexibility and I am looking forward to working with him," Ferguson said.

Lisbie is delighted to get the deal over the line and is excited to work with Darren Ferguson. "I can't wait to get started. I am really excited to represent this great club and the supporters.

"Everybody knows how Peterborough United operate in terms of bringing young players to the club and giving them the opportunity to perform, it is down to me to take that opportunity,

"I feel that this is the right time to make the move, I enjoyed my time at Braintree, but the chance to play in the EFL is something that really excites me."
