Harry Leonard in action against Cardiff City

Harry Leonard earned Posh a point against Cardiff City, cancelling out an opener from the visitors less than 60 seconds earlier.

Peterborough United held promotion-chasing Cardiff City to a 1-1 draw at the Weston Homes Stadium as Harry Leonard bounced back from the penalty miss at Luton Town to earn a point for his side with a well-taken effort.

Leonard raced onto an assist from Kyrell Lisbie (his 21st goal contribution of the campaign), to calmly finish past Trott to cancel out substitute Alex Robertson's effort a minute earlier.

While the Bluebirds had plenty of efforts on goal and goalkeeper Alex Bass deserves huge credit for some big saves in the 90 minutes, you could argue Posh had the better chances with Lisbie and Bolu Shofowoke both denied by Trott.

Bass made his first save on 10 minutes, keeping out Bagan after a well-worked corner. Before the shot-stopper produced a stunning stop to tip over a strike from Wintle.

Bass then did well to keep out Tanner by the near post before Shofowoke fired over after demonstrating his blistering pace down the right hand side. Shofowoke was denied at the near post by Trott on 38 minutes before Turnbull was booked for a bad foul on Lees, who was forced off the pitch with a gash to his shin.

Ashford fired over a minute into stoppage time before Bass produced another fine stop, this time kicking away an effort following a deflection. On 47 minutes, ROBERTSON opened the scoring as he fired home from within the penalty area.

However, the lead didn't last long as Lisbie sent LEONARD through on goal and he dispatched the chance perfectly with his left-foot. On 72 minutes, Morgan picked out Lisbie with a superb raking pass, but the winger tried to lob the keeper and Trott claimed the effort.

Wintle hit the post moments later before the same player whistled a shot just past the post from 25-yards. Posh are next in action at Blackpool on Saturday and remain five points clear of the drop zone with two games in hand.
