Posh Under 18s

The Posh Under 18s recorded a comfortable 3-0 away win at Fleetwood Town on Saturday morning.

Billie Lawrence continued his fine run of form as he scored twice as the Peterborough United Under 18s eased to a 3-0 victory over Fleetwood Town in Professional Development League action at the weekend.

The youngster, who turned 15 recently, bagged a brace while Benjamin McWilliams-Marcano was also on the scoresheet as Jimmy Unwin's side pocketed three points.

Unwin said: "It was a pleasing win for us, we scored three good goals and kept a clean sheet, so happy with that. We were a little wasteful in the final third, but I can't have too many complaints because it was a tricky surface.

"Fleetwood were a similar age to us in terms of their XI so it made it a competitive game, but we showed our class and deserved the three points. Billie got another two goals, he is still only 15, but he is definitely part of our Under 18s group.

"Unless his levels or standards drop or he gets carried away with being at this age group as a younger player, there is no reason why he can't continue to influence things. Every week he empties the tank, his aggression makes him look like an Under 18. He scored two identical goals and hopefully he can continue to build on that.

"He is a player that is more of an eight than a 10, he is a box to box player, a bit like Brandon Khela, he has that energy to impact the game at both ends," Unwin said.
