The Posh Women have made their second summer signing with the arrival of defender from Stoke City.
Peterborough United Women are delighted to announce the signing of defender Camille Jenkins from Stoke City with the 21-year-old becoming the club' s second summer signing following the arrival of Romy Saunders last week.
Jenkins, who came through the Academy system with Derby County, was part of the Posh side that beat Sutton Coldfield in a behind closed doors friendly on Sunday afternoon.
Jenkins was named Derby County's Player of the Season during the 2024/25 campaign and can operate in a number of positions across the back line, although has featured more at centre back during her career.
Manager Jake Poole was delighted to acquire her services. "Camille will bring Tier 3 experience from her time with Derby and Stoke, she is versatile, she can play in a number of different positions, which will important for us.
"She has the right character and the right ambition to match the direction we want to head in. We are delighted to bring her into our squad."
Jenkins made her debut for the Ewes aged just 16 and scored six goals in her 23 appearances when she was named County's Player of the Season.
Jenkins is excited ahead of a new challenge and can't wait to get started. "I am really looking forward to it, I miss the team environment when I am not playing and I feel this is the perfect environment for me.
"I am very happy to be here. I have been with the group for a couple of weeks now, the girls have been really welcoming, it feels like it is the right environment, Jake has been great and I am really excited to get started.
"It feels a good time to be joining, there is a really good atmosphere amongst the squad following promotion and the squad looks ready to compete at Tier 3. It is a competitive division, I have played at that level for Derby and Stoke, so I know what to expect.
"I would call myself a defender rather than a full-back or a centre back, I can play anywhere across the back and hopefully I can help the group."
