Jameson EFL

Jameson and the EFL are joining forces to offer one amateur team the chance to swap their Sunday league experience for a chance to play like an EFL pro.

For one day only, the lucky local team will be given a once-in-a-lifetime matchday makeover, which includes:

  • Jameson match branding, to help transform their humble pitch into a theatre of dreams
  • Sky Sports presenter David Prutton, pundit Jobi McAnuff and commentator David Stowell providing live reaction to all the key moments and controversies
  • Match analysts to dissect the false nines and fluid formations.
  • A professional ref to keep everybody in line
  • A trained physio, with no magic sponge in sight
  • And EFL legend Steve Sidwell, who will lace up for one final, muddy showdown.

In addition to the main event, two runner-up teams will also get kitted out with a Jameson-branded strip of their own, complete with club crest.

This initiative forms part of Jameson’s four-season partnership with the EFL and builds on previous community-based initiatives such as Connects F.C, which helps to tackle social isolation in football communities up and down the country.  Through Connects F.C, Jameson donates £2500 to each Football Club charity to fund events to help alleviate loneliness in their local area.

The ‘Day in a Life of a Pro Club’ will continue Jameson’s commitment to supporting local communities, using the amateur game as a platform for bringing football fans and players together.

Josh McCarthy, Brand Director at Pernod Ricard UK, said: “The new season is officially underway, and we believe local teams across the country deserve as much fanfare as those in League One, League Two or even the Championship! Jameson +continues to champion football through our partnership with the EFL, as well as through initiatives supporting grassroots football just like this one. Our Jameson kits have become the must-have merch both on and off the pitch and we’re buzzing to be teaming up with Steve Sidwell and our partners at Sky Sports to give Sunday leagues a touch of EFL magic.”

The competition will open on the 8 September, and it couldn’t be any easier to enter. Simply head to the Jameson website here, pop in your club’s details and cross your fingers/legs/toes that your team is drawn!

Just like with any competition, the more times you enter, the more chance you have to win, so be sure to spread the word around your WhatsApp group and get the full squad involved.
