A number of Posh players have been representing their countries over the international period. Here’s a round-up of how they’ve got on:
Josh Feeney | Scotland Under 21s
After playing 90 minutes for Posh in the narrow defeat at Stockport County, Josh Feeney travelled to meet up with his Scotland Under 21s team-mates for their UEFA Under-21 EURO qualifying fixtures against Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.
The Aston Villa loanee played the full match against Azerbaijan Under 21s and came out on top with a 5-2 victory in Kilmarnock before playing the full match in their following fixture away in Bulgaria, helping keep a clean sheet in the 2-0 victory.
David Okagbue | Republic of Ireland Under 21s
Centre-back David Okagbue was called up to represent the Republic of Ireland Under 21s for three UEFA Under-21 EURO qualifying fixtures against Slovakia, Kazakhstan and England.
Okagbue came on as a late substitute and helped see out their 4-3 victory over Kazakhstan Under 21s in Cork, but was an unused substitute for Ireland’s 2-0 win in Slovakia and their 3-1 win over England Under 21s on Tuesday night.
Patryk Sykut | Ukraine Under 19s
Attacking midfielder Patryk Sykut was once again called up for the Ukraine Under 19s after impressing during the recent UEFA Under-19 EURO tournament, this time for fixtures against Sweden, Germany and Scotland.
Sykut started all three matches. They slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Sweden before earning a creditable 0-0 draw with Under-19 EURO finalists Germany. They then defeated Scotland Under 19s 2-0 despite going down to nine men!
Vernon Masara | Zimbabwe Under 23s
Posh forward Vernon Masara was called up for the Zimbabwe Under 23s for their Under-23 AFCON qualifiers against Mauritius Under 23s.
After taking a knock during the Carabao Cup win at Watford, Masara didn’t make the matchday squad as his Zimbabwe team-mates won the first leg 2-0. He did return for the second leg and started the match, which Zimbabwe won 4-1, sealing a 6-1 aggregate win.
George Nevett | Wales Under 21s
Defender George Nevett, who is currently on loan at Sky Bet League Two side Tranmere Rovers, played the full match for Wales Under 21s in their narrow 1-0 defeat away in Belgium.
Meanwhile, Posh Women forward Crista Ganado has been called up by Malta Under 19s for the upcoming UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship qualifiers.
