Posh suffered their first defeat of 2026 as Lincoln City continued their promotion push with a 5-2 victory at the LNER Stadium.
Sometimes in football, the scoreline doesn't reflect the performance and while promotion contenders Lincoln City deserved the three points in the end, the three-goal buffer is a tad harsh on Luke Williams' side.
Posh dominated the first 25 minutes of the contest and took a deserved lead, but an injury to one of the assistant referees provided a five-minute delay and following the re-start, the Imps were a changed side.
Even in the second half, Posh got back to a 3-2 deficit but within a minute conceded a sloppy goal at the other end and eventually suffered a 5-2 loss - the first league defeat since November.
Matt Garbett fired over from a free-kick on three minutes and Brandon Khela was a whisker away with a left-foot curler from the edge of the box on seven minutes as Posh came out of the traps quickest.
Declan Frith fired over after a good ball from Kioso on 11 minutes before Alex Bass kept out a low shot from Freddie Draper at the other end.
On 23 minutes, Posh got the goal they deserved as Harry LEONARD provided a close-range finish after a left-wing low centre.
The injury to the assistant on 26 minutes worked in the favour of the hosts and they drew level on 32 minutes as HACKETT swept home past Bass from around 10-yards.
Darikwa was denied by Bass on 36 minutes before the Imps got their noses in front a minute before the interval as DRAPER fired home from close-range.
In the seven minutes of added time, Lincoln extended their advantage as DARIKWA fired into the bottom corner from 25-yards. Kioso saw a header claimed by Wickens from a corner kick in the final minute of the half.
On 55 minutes, Posh reduced the arrears as LISBIE chested the ball into the back of the net from close-range, however, that joy was shortlived as REACH scored within 60 seconds at the other end.
Collins swept a shot inches wide before Bass kept out a low shot from Hackett after a sliced clearance from Lees. Two minutes into stoppage time, Lincoln added a fifth as DARIKWA raced clear to beat Bass.
