Academy Goalkeeper Session

Posh trio spend time with Academy goalkeepers at the idverde Training Ground.

Peterborough United goalkeeping trio Lucas Bergström, Will Blackmore and Will Lakin spent time with some of the younger shot-stoppers within the Academy at the idverde Training Ground, answering questions and offering advice during a session put on by Goalkeeping Coach Mark Tyler.

Bergström, who has chalked up eight clean sheets in 21 appearances for the club since joining on-loan from Premier League side Chelsea, spoke about how he was scouted for the Blues, dealing with injuries and responding to setbacks.

Blackmore, who made his Posh debut in the 4-1 win over Doncaster Rovers, chatted about that experience, being a regular on the substitutes bench for the first team from a young age and learning from the other keepers at the club.

Lakin, who has been a regular within the under 21 group, discussed his journey through the Academy and improving under the tutelage of Tyler.

The Posh Goalkeeping Coach said: “It is important for the senior goalkeepers to be accessible and approachable for the keepers coming through the Academy system. It was good to put on something like this where younger goalkeepers can ask questions and get advice, particularly with the trio that we have at the top end of the club.”
