Striker Crista Ganado has been called up by Malta Under 19s for this week's UEFA Women's Under 19s Championship qualifiers.
We are delighted to confirm that Peterborough United Women's forward Crista Ganado has been included in the Malta Under 19 squad for forthcoming important qualifiers.
Ganado, who was part of the Posh side that recorded their first away win at Tier 3 level on Sunday, linked up with her country on Monday morning ahead of three games.
They take on Czechia at the Centenary Stadium today (Tuesday 6th October, 2.30pm), before facing Romania on Friday (9th October, 2.30pm). They conclude their programme this week on the 12th October when they take on Kazakhstan (12.30pm).
Ganado, who has been included in a senior Malta side before, will be hoping to use her experience to help the young players in what are key qualifying fixtures.
"It is always an honour to be called up by your country and it is an experience that I am really looking forward too. International football is so different, the opposition will test you in different ways.
"I have been in a few Under 19s camps before so hopefully I can use that experience to help the players. They will be tough games, but hopefully we can pick up some positive results."
Good luck Crista!
