Posh players celebrate

Harry Leonard and Gustav Lindgren both scored twice as Posh recorded an impressive victory over AFC Wimbledon at the Weston Homes Stadium.

Peterborough United made it two wins from two under Luke Williams as his side eased to a comprehensive 5-0 victory over AFC Wimbledon in Sky Bet League One action at the Weston Homes Stadium with Harry Leonard (2), Gustav Lindgren (2) and Kyrell Lisbie on target.

It was the perfect day in PE2 as the Dons were blown away by a Posh side that defended resolutely and attacked with intensity, pace and power.

It started from the first whistle and the breakthrough came inside the first quarter of an hour as LEONARD produced a fine finish from close-range following a low cross from skipper Peter Kioso.

It was 2-0 on 17 minutes as LEONARD won and then converted from the penalty spot, the former Blackburn Rovers man rifling home from 12-yards, giving goalkeeper Bishop no chance.

Alex Bass did well to save with his legs to deny Sasu at the other end with Tom O'Connor going into the book for a shirt tug.

Bass did well to tip over a free-kick from Steve Seddon on 22 minutes before Posh and Kyrell Lisbie nearly scored the goal of the season as the winger beat multiple people in the box with fine close-control, staying on his feet under a challenge in the box before the ball ran to Odoh who saw his shot blocked.

On 35 minutes, Posh extended their advantage to 3-0 as LISBIE ghosted in at the far post to convert a Matt Garbett delivery, which had been missed at the near post by a defender.

Two minutes later, Posh struck the post through Lisbie after good work from Odoh as Posh threatened to find a fourth before the interval.

Kioso went into the book two minutes into the second half before the chances flowed once more, Odoh seeing a shot blocked and Kioso firing a shot towards goal, which was shovelled clear by Bishop.

Bass did well to tip over a looping header from Bugiel before Posh made it 4-0 as substitute Gustav LINDGREN converted from close-range following excellent work from JJ Morgan.

In stoppage time, Posh added a fifth goal as LINDGREN was sent clean through on goal, he composed himself and finished superbly past Bishop for his second goal of the afternoon.
