Posh boss Darren Ferguson spoke to the club website to give his verdict on the transfer window as a whole after adding four new players to his squad on deadline day.
Strikers Harry Leonard and Jimmy-Jay Morgan arrived from Blackburn Rovers and Chelsea respectively while Wrexham pair Jacob Mendy and Tom O'Connor made the move to the Weston Homes Stadium on-loan deals until the end of the campaign.
Striker Bradley Ihionvien joined Shrewsbury Town on-loan until the end of the season, while Jacob Wakeling is expected to join a National League club on Tuesday.
"With the window closing, we can reflect on our business and I think we have brought 16 players in, which hasn't happened, certainly not in my time at the club.
"People might argue 'why did we wait' or this, that and the other, but we have done it and we have recruited very well in my opinion.
"What we haven't done while we have been recruiting is to get good results, so that has put us under a little bit of pressure, which is understandable. We are not in a position where we can say 'wait until everyone is fit and available for selection', we have let ourselves down by not getting results.
"Whatever we have done in the past in terms of personnel and formations, we are now in a position where we have more flexibility to change things. We had to wait to get the right players in, but I am delighted with the recruitment, we are strong and if we are honest, we probably have too many players, but again, ones that were on the list and made available, have just not moved on.
"We have managed to recruit despite that and I really appreciate the support and backing from the chairman. He has really supported me in this window," Ferguson said.
