Josh Magennis

Northern Ireland international striker Josh Magennis (pictured below) joined the Grecians on June 27, following his release from Wigan Athletic at the end of last season.

The 33-year-old 6ft 2 forward, who has made 79 appearances for his country, arrives in Devon on a one-year contract to continue his career that has seen him make almost 600 appearances in the Championship, League One, League Two and the Scottish Premiership.

Magennis began his career as a youngster in Northern Ireland as a goalkeeper before switching to the attack in 2008 ahead of turning professional.

He joined the academy at Cardiff City – signing his first pro deal in 2009, playing ten times before a loan move to Grimsby Town. He joined Aberdeen in 2010 and stayed four years in the north of Scotland, scoring ten. He also spent time in Scotland with St Mirren and Kilmarnock.

MANAGER QUOTES

"Exeter have had a mixed bag of results, but they are always difficult to play because they rotate a lot within their XI in terms of positions. We were very good against Bradford and certainly deserved to win the game, we have had a good week's training and we are gradually getting players back. I am sure it will be a busy few days ahead of the window closing," Darren Ferguson said.
