Posh players celebrate scoring against Wycombe Wanderers

Kyrell Lisbie and Cian Hayes on target as Posh record superb win on the road at Adams Park.

Wycombe away in the league has been a graveyard fixture this Millennium, but those nightmares at Adams Park were forgotten following a polished display as goals from Kyrell Lisbie and substitute Cian Hayes secured a 2-0 victory.

Yes, Posh rode their luck at times (they could have found themselves behind inside 15 seconds), but they could have also added further goals with Jimmy-Jay Morgan, Harry Leonard and Pemi Aderoju all going close.

In the end, it was a goal in each half that secured the three points on a day that saw boss Luke Williams had a league debut to Patryk Sykut.

It was Bradley Fink who missed the early chance, firing wide following a long ball and the striker had two other opportunities to score across the 90 minutes, one header saved by Alex Bass and the other looping over the crossbar.

Boyd-Munce curled a shot over the top on seven minutes before James Dornelly fired over at the other end as the opening exchanges were fairly uneventful in terms of chances on goal.

On 36 minutes, Posh found the breakthrough and what a goal it was too, perfectly made down the right hand side with Dornelly, Morgan and Collins involved, the latter picking out LISBIE to tap home from close-range.

Boyd-Munce fired inches wide two minutes before the break before Posh should have doubled their lead on the counter-attack with Morgan dragging his shot from the edge of the box wide.

Lees was well placed to clear off the line from Harris on 59 minutes before Woodrow fired wide after a poor pass from Bass.

On 68 minutes, Posh doubled their lead as Lisbie picked out HAYES at the back post and the substitute got the ball past Norris to make it 2-0 in front of the Posh fans.

Bass produced a fine stop to keep out Fink in the final 10 minutes while Posh had further opportunities, Leonard couldn't squeeze a shot on target from a Hayes delivery before Norris made a superb double stop to deny Aderoju.
