It was Day Three of the training camp at St. George's Park and the players continue to be put through their paces as preparations continue for the friendly on Saturday.
After two sweltering hot days, the players were certainly grateful for a drop in temperature as the Peterborough United squad arrived for the first session of the day at St. George's Park.
Once pre-hab was completed in the gym overlooking the pitch where England normally train when based at the National Centre, it was down to Pitch 12 for the first session of the day on the grass.
After the warm-up, led by Head of Sports Science Lewis Keeble, it was working on shape play and pressing before a number of small-sided games, which proved to be hugely competitive.
The players then had a gym session before returning for the second session of the day, again following a similar theme, working on playing out, both from the back and in tight areas, with the emphasis on making sure the passes were made at the right time.
During the second session, there was an extra bonus for Posh+ subscribers, which will be confirmed in due course - an interesting insight into the day.
Manager Darren Ferguson said: "The players are in a good place at the minute, they have worked hard, the new lads have settled in quickly and I think there is a bit of a family atmosphere, which is obviously positive.
"We are building towards the first game at Leicester, which is a bit of an unknown really because they don't have a manager, but the first game is all about fitness, although we know that we will perhaps have to do a lot of defending."
