Posh at St. George's Park

Day Four of the training camp at St. George's Park is complete with the Posh squad continuing to work hard.

The Peterborough United squad completed their fourth successive day of double sessions as the training camp at St. George's Park nears its conclusion with Day Four focusing on set-pieces (defending and attacking) as well as positional play.

Day Four began with pre-hab in the gym overlooking the Bobby Charlton pitch before the players made their way to the Gordon Banks pitch to complete a warm-up with Head of Sports Science Lewis Keeble.

Then it was work within their positions on the pitch with the coaching staff, with the attackers working on movements in the box, the midfielders playing through the lines with defenders keeping the ball out of the back of the net.

After a break for lunch, the players returned to the pitch for a session dedicated to set-pieces with the coaching staff working on attacking and defending the box to corners and free-kicks around the box.

A gym session followed before the players returned to the main building for dinner. Assistant manager Kieran Scarff believes a good environment off the pitch is key to success on it.

"The new players have settled in quickly and we feel that everyone is in a good place at the minute. It is vitally important that the environment we create is a good one full of good people as well as players.

"If you get that bit right, then that can help matters on the pitch. We have a number of young players with us this week and they will benefit hugely from the experience," Scarff said.
