Action between Posh U21s and Millwall U21s

A second half free-kick from Kai Corbett earned the Posh Under 21s a point from a Professional Development League fixture with Millwall.

The Peterborough United Under 21s fought back from 1-0 down to earn a share of the spoils against Millwall at the Weston Homes Stadium as Kai Corbett's second half free-kick earned a 2-2 draw in Professional Development League action.

It was a challenging start for Ryan Semple's men as they conceded inside four minutes and lost goalkeeper Will Blackmore to a precautionary injury.

The Lions opened the scoring following a fine solo effort from striker ABDULMALIK who used his pace to create the chance and then found the bottom corner with a composed finish.

Substitute goalkeeper Sakalas did well to get a toe on a shot from Leahy on 14 minutes to divert the effort onto the post before the same Millwall player hit the other post with the rebound.

Corbett saw a shot deflect wide on 31 minutes with Cotton cautioned for a foul on Charlie O'Connell as a fairly uneventful first half came to a close.

It didn't take long for Posh to level after the break as a cross from the right was diverted over the line by Lions defender McKay under pressure from Pemi Aderoju.

Millwall restored their lead three minutes later as LAWSON found the bottom corner from just inside the penalty area.

On 74 minutes, Posh drew themselves level as CORBETT fired home a free-kick from 20-yards after he himself was upended on the edge of the box.

Posh: Blackmore (sub Sakalas 4min), Mills, Dornelly, Thomas, Rose, O'Connell, De Havilland, O'Brien-Brady, Aderoju (sub Trialist B 65min), Changunda (sub Bodnar 77min), corbett. Unused subs: Chaillinor, Trialist A.
