Cambridge United v Posh Women

Peterborough United Women continue their pre-season programme with a trip to face Cambridge United on Thursday evening (7.45pm).

Peterborough United Women have passed the midpoint of their pre-season programme, with Cambridge United up next before a quick turnaround to face the London Bees on Sunday.

Posh were good value for victory last Sunday, beating Derby County 2-1, with Jess Rousseau and Niamh Reynolds on the scoresheet as our preparations stepped up a gear at the Don Amott Arena.

The U’s will be looking to raise the levels on Thursday, having fallen short to Real Bedford Women – adding extra spice to our upcoming FA Women’s National League group phase, as we’re drawn with both teams in the group phase.

TEAM NEWS

Goalkeeper Neive Corry missed the win at Derby due to a slight knock with Sophie Harris between the sticks and she is expected to continue in that role. Striker Tara Kirk is expected to be added to the squad with a number of other players not expected to feature.

MANAGER QUOTES

"We look forward to the next step in our pre-season with a challenging trip to local rivals Cambridge United. Last year's fixture was a really competitive game and we expect the same this time around. As we step up the levels in our pre-season, we hope to learn more about our team ahead of the start of the season and start to see those connections taking shape," Jake Poole said.
