Posh return to action after the international break with a trip to the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday lunchtime (12.30pm).

Peterborough United are back in Sky Bet League One action on Saturday with Darren Ferguson's men making the trip to the Pirelli Stadium to face Burton Albion (12.30pm) .

The game, which is televised live on Sky Sports+, is the first of a four-match run of games that Posh will be looking to maximise their points return following back to back league defeats ahead of the break against Lincoln City and Bolton Wanderers.

The Brewers have won two of their last three league games including a 3-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers last weekend and are one of the form sides in the division after a tricky start.

TEAM NEWS

Posh are without the services of defender Sam Hughes, left-back Rio Adebisi and wingers Declan Frith and Cian Hayes. George Nevett, Jimmy-Jay Morgan, David Okagbue and Matthew Garbett have all been away on international duty and returned without any injuries.

Toby Sibbick has returned from international duty and will be added to the Brewers squad. They appear to have no fresh injury worries following the win over Bolton Wanderers.

ONE TO WATCH

Fabio Tavares

Fabio Tavares (pictured below) joined the Brewers on loan from Coventry City until the end of the season in January 2025. The 24-year-old forward began his career in England with Rochdale in League One, where he made 41 appearances.

After showing great promise, Portuguese-born Tavares progressed to the Championship when he was picked up by a newly promoted Coventry City side in the January window of 2021.

Since arriving at the Coventry Building Society Arena, Tavares has made 30 appearances for the Sky Blues and played a key part in their run to last year’s FA Cup semi-finals. The forward scored a brace in their 5-0 fifth round victory over Maidstone United and helped to start the sensational comeback against Manchester United, setting up Ellis Simms for Coventry City’s first goal of the tie as they overturned a three-goal deficit before narrowly missing out on a place in the final through penalties. Tavares made his Burton Albion debut off the bench in the goalless draw away at Barnsley on Saturday 1st February 2025.

MANAGER QUOTES

"It is always a tough place to go, a tight pitch and they are in good form. I have watched their last three games, the scoreline maybe flattered them a little bit against Bolton, but they were very good in the game at Doncaster and deserved to win that one. Gary Bowyer has done a wonderful job there, he probably doesn't get the credit he deserves," Darren Ferguson said.
