Posh Women brought the curtain down on pre-season with a comfortable 4-1 success over Tottenham Hotspur PGA at PIMS Park on Sunday afternoon.
In sweltering conditions, Jake Poole's side were always in control against the youngsters from the capital and secured the victory with a fast start and a display of clinical finishing from substitute Poppie Brown.
The former Arsenal midfielder bagged a second half hat-trick to ensure Posh go into the first game at Tier 3 level in the club's history next weekend in good form.
Posh were quick out of the blocks, creating a number of half chances in the opening few minutes with Ellie May's strike that went wide the closest they came in a dominant early spell.
The deadlock was broken on six minutes as persistence from Evie Driscoll-King down the right hand side created the opportunity for Jess DRISCOLL and the long-serving attacking midfielder produced an eye-catching finish, flicking the ball into the corner from close-range.
Keir Perkins saw an effort parried by the goalkeeper on 13 minutes before Driscoll-King's low shot was repelled after she started the move with a naughty nutmeg.
Last season's Golden Glove winner Neive Corry kept out a long-range effort from Mace on 25 minutes before Posh were forced into a change as Crista Ganado replaced Ellie May.
Just after the hour mark, Posh doubled the lead as substitute BROWN lashed the ball past the keeper from just inside the box and 10 minutes later, BROWN added to her tally as she timed her run into the box expertly to find the corner after good work from Romy Saunders.
On 79 minutes, the visitors pulled a goal back from close-range but BROWN restored the three-goal cushion and secured her first ever treble as she raced through on goal and calmly placed her finish into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.
