Bradford City

Posh make the trip north to face fellow Sky Bet League One side Bradford City in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday evening (7.45pm).

Peterborough United have the opportunity to reach the Carabao Cup quarter-finals for the first time since 1991 when they travel to Mbanq Valley Parade to face Michael Duff's Bradford City (7.45pm) on Tuesday night.

Both teams have changed manager since reaching this stage of the competition with Luke Williams in charge when Posh overcame Barnsley on penalty kicks in the last round and Graham Alexander in the hotseat for the Bantams as they won 3-1 at Leyton Orient.

Robbie Savage's side go into the encounter on the back of a 1-1 draw with Bromley thanks to a last-minute equaliser from Vernon Masara, while Bradford picked up a creditable point with a goalless draw at Oxford United.

TEAM NEWS

Posh are without top scorer Harry Leonard due to suspension with summer signing Danny Ormerod set to lead the line in his absence. Defender Tom O'Connor is not expected to feature as he completed 90 minutes for the first time since his return from injury on Saturday, while fellow centre back Lucca Mendonca is a doubt with an ankle knock.

Ben Woods and Rio Adebisi are definitely ruled out, but there is better news with Josh Feeney and Matt Garbett training on Monday. The pair are expected to return to the squad. Chris Conn-Clarke and Patryk Sykut, who both enjoyed starring roles for the Under 21s on Monday, could be added to the squad with nine substitutes available to choose from.

Josh Neufville is making progress from a hamstring injury, but this game is likely to come too soon for him, while striker Stephen Humphyrs is a doubt with a back issue.

ONE TO WATCH

Jake Beesley

Jake Beesley (pictured below) became the Bantams' first summer signing in 2026, joining from Burton Albion after a successful campaign, where he scored 13 goals and assisted seven times in 45 Sky Bet League One games. The forward has brought plenty of third-tier experience with him, having played for the Brewers, Blackpool, Rochdale and Chesterfield. Beesley’s career has seen him progress through the Spireites academy and into the first team, with him also working his way from the National League to all three leagues within the EFL over the years.

MANAGER QUOTES

"What an opportunity for this group of players - to get to a quarter-final of the League Cup for the first time since 1991. Both teams have an unbelievable opportunity to reach the latter stages of this competition. We can go anywhere and win, this game is no different, I know their manager Michael Duff well and they are a good side, but so are we. We have the momentum, let's go there and be positive," Robbie Savage said.
