Posh travel to the Mbanq Valley Parade to take on Bradford City in Sky Bet League One action on Saturday (3pm).
Peterborough United begin their Sky Bet League One campaign in Yorkshire on Saturday as Luke Williams' takes his side to Mbanq Valley Parade to take on last season's surprise package, Bradford City.
The Bantams enjoyed a tremendous campaign last term, finishing in fourth place with 77 points, eventually losing out in the play-offs to Bolton Wanderers, who secured promotion to the Championship at Wembley Stadium against Stockport County.
Posh go into the encounter on the back of a 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers in the first round of the Carabao Cup, while the Bantams were 2-0 winners over Rochdale in their opening tie of the competition. Both sides will face Championship opposition in round two with Posh travelling to Watford and Bradford taking on Burnley.
TEAM NEWS
Posh bolstered their squad on Thursday with the arrival of three players. Winger Ethan Williams made the move from Manchester United, Vernon Masara joined from Burnley while midfielder Liam Kelly swapped Milton Keynes Dons for Posh. All three could feature on Saturday.
Defender Sam Hughes has suffered a set back in his comeback from a long-term injury and is set for a further spell on the sidelines, but Tom O'Connor came through the 45 minutes at the Memorial Stadium last week without any issues.
Declan Frith is making good progress from a foot injury, while Matt Garbett continues to make steps forward following his hamstring injury. Rio Adebisi continues to work hard in his rehabilitation.
Adam Phillips is pushing for a start for the Bantams, but they are unlikely to tinker too much from the line-up that defeated Rochdale last time out.

"Bradford City is a wonderful football club. They have a stadium that generates a brilliant atmosphere and I am sure it will be bouncing on the opening day of the league season. Last season's success didn't come as a surprise to me and I don't expect them to be far away from challenging this season too. For us, we had a good win at Bristol Rovers and hopefully we can take that momentum into Saturday's game. We have options in the attacking third of the pitch and that is really important because they are explosive positions, " Luke Williams said.

Jake Beesley
Beesley (pictured below) became the Bantams' first summer signing in 2026, joining from Burton Albion after a successful campaign, where he scored 13 goals and assisted seven times in 45 Sky Bet League One games.
The forward has brought plenty of third-tier experience with him, having played for the Brewers, Blackpool, Rochdale and Chesterfield. Beesley’s career has seen him progress through the Spireites academy and into the first team, with him also working his way from the National League to all three leagues within the EFL over the years.
