A bad day at the office began in the warm-up as Posh were beaten 2-0 by a strong Bradford City outfit.
Sometimes games of football can turn on moments, but one of the biggest factors in the defeat to Bradford City actually happened before kick-off as experienced defender Tom Lees suffered a calf injury, forcing a late change to the starting line-up.
Posh didn't really recover from that blow as Bradford went on to dominate for most of the game at the University of Bradford Stadium, eventually settling for two goals with Bobby Pointon and Kayden Jackson on target.
In truth, 2-0 was probably a shade lucky for Posh as the Bantams carved out a host of other opportunities, but a combination of poor finishing and excellent goalkeeping kept the score respectable.
At the other end, only a close-range effort from Kyrell Lisbie, which was saved by the legs of Sam Walker and a penalty shout when Cian Hayes appeared to be upended in the box got the Posh fans on their feet.
The deadlock was broken on four minutes as POINTON fired home from close-range after a poor punch from Bass but that was his only blemish as he saved superbly from Max Power, Tyreik Wright and Josh Neufville, while Jenson Metcalfe also hit the post from a free-kick.
The second goal came five minutes after the break as JACKSON headed home a Neufville centre from the right.
Pemi Aderoju saw a late shot blocked before Carl Johnston's effort was parried by Walker with the substitute striker seeing the rebound superbly blocked by Baldwin.
Posh are next in action at Barnsley on Tuesday night and they will be hoping for positive news on Lees' injury, although Luke Williams confirmed that there was a 'pop' in the defender's calf, which doesn't sound too promising.
