The Posh Women made it back to back wins in Tier 3 after a 3-2 success over Huddersfield Town at PIMS Park.

The Peterborough United Women followed up last week's impressive 1-0 victory at Middlesbrough with another excellent three points, this time in front of their own supporters at PIMS Park as Jake Poole's side recorded a 3-2 win over previously unbeaten Huddersfield Town.

It was a thoroughly deserved three points too - with Posh playing some superb football in the first 45 minutes and then showing their tenacity after the break as the Terriers lived up to their name.

It was the perfect start to the game for Posh as they opened the scoring within the first three minutes, wonderful approach play from Lauren Wilshaw and Poppie Brown down the left, with the latter's cross expertly guided into the back of the net via the head of Ellie MAY.

Neive Corry did well to keep out an effort with her legs moments later before May was superbly denied by the goalkeeper at the other end after finding some space in the penalty are.

Elford went into the book on the half hour mark for consistent moaning to the officials and was lucky not to escape a second booking for a poor challenge on Corry.

Jessica Driscoll's long-range effort cleared the crossbar on 35 minutes before Posh extended their advantage as WILSHAW saw her perfectly flighted corner elude everyone and find the corner.

Two minutes later and Posh were in dreamland as a corner from the right was smashed hone on the volley by Evie DRISCOLL-KING, who in truth could not have made a more perfect connection.

Kelly fired wide for the visitors ten minutes into the second half before Brown fired inches wide at the other end from the edge of the box. On 57 minutes, Huddersfield reduced the arrears from the spot through ELFORD after a handball by Camille Jenkins.

Charlotte Steggles was introduced for her debut on 77 minutes and made an instant impact with some dominant aerial duels. On 80 minutes, there was a 20-minute delay as Kelly was stretchered off after landing awkwardly. We wish her well with her recovery.

Huddersfield scored from the spot again moments after the re-start, this time BIGGINS did the honours from 12-yards. Posh defended brilliantly from there on in, and recorded a second successive win.

Posh: Corry, Jenkins, Pitt, Driscoll-King, Perkins, Bartlett (sub Steggles 77min), Mears, Brown, Driscoll, Wilshaw (sub Rai 71min), May. Unused subs: Reynolds, Saunders, Osker, Connor.
