Supporters may have seen a recent social media post involving former striker Britt Assombalonga and the club can confirm that he is currently shadowing staff within the Academy.
Assombalonga, who scored 33 goals in 58 appearances for Posh, is now playing for non-league Harborough Town after a spell with Barnet, but is looking to get into coaching when his career comes to a close.
Academy Director Dan Robinson said: "Britt lives locally and approached the football club because he wanted to understand how our Academy works. He is at the stage in his playing career where he is looking at what is next, he has aspirations of being a coach and he is spending time with all of our age groups on a voluntary basis.
"He has been brilliant. He has spent a lot of time working with the strikers and I know they have benefitted hugely from his experience. It is a bit of a two-pronged attack, it will help him hugely in his journey so he can understand more about what it looks like. everything from decision-making and planning to being out on the grass and for us, it is fantastic to have someone with that experience and calibre for our players.
"We love having former players within the Academy and I know the players and coaches within the Academy have already enjoyed working with him."
