The Women face Sporting Khalsa at Guardian Warehousing Arena on Sunday afternoon.

Peterborough United Women travel to Guardian Warehousing Arena to face fellow FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands side Sporting Khalsa on Sunday afternoon (2pm) in the preliminary round of FA Women’s National League Plate.

The Women entered the FA Women’s National League Plate after falling to defeat against Long Eaton United earlier this month in FA Women’s National League Cup, meaning they were entered into the Plate. Sporting Khalsa was also eliminated into the Plate after a 2-0 defeat against Barnsley.

This weekend will mark three consecutive cup games for Chloe Brown’s side, including the Women’s FA Cup which Posh will begin its journey later this month.

Team News
Hollie Lewis and Piper O’Neill remain unavailable for selection for this weekend fixture, with the latter set to spend a few weeks on the side-lines. Beatriz Borque has also joined the list of absentees after suffering a hamstring injury in the defeat against Boldmere St Michaels last Sunday.

From the Gaffer
“We want to use these three cup games to make sure we’re trying a few things out and take the pressure off ourselves from getting those three points every week, which I think will be a good boost for the players. Being a knockout game, Sporting Khalsa will be up for it from the minute go and looking at their results so far this season, I expect an evenly contested match.”

The Reserves
The reserves are on the road to face Nottingham Forest Women FC Development as they return to East Midlands Women's Regional Football League action after a two-break. Wayne Hinds’ side will be looking to bounce back after the disappointing defeat against Leicester Road Ladies & Girls Senior last time out.
