Social Media Boycott taking place over the forthcoming weekend.

Peterborough United will be joining 71 other EFL clubs, the Premier League, media broadcasters and many others in boycotting Social Media from 3pm on Friday until 11.59pm on Monday to put pressure on for more action to bring an end to the vile discriminatory abuse players and many others have endured on the platforms.

The club, like everybody else participating in the Boycott, will not be using Twitter, Facebook or Instagram over the weekend. We will be uploading content to the club’s official website, www.theposh.com as well as the club’s official YouTube channel with reaction, live broadcasts, interviews and much more across the match day and beyond.

You can find the club’s official YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/theposhofficial. It is not just the club’s official pages that will be participating, the Posh Foundation, Posh Match Live, Posh Women and Girls and Scholarship pages will also be involved. We have asked the players across the club to join us in the Boycott.

The club will email out the official team-sheet just after 2pm to everyone on the club’s database and post-match reaction will drop into your inbox on Saturday evening too. A club spokesman said: “It is important that football provides a united front and the Social Media Boycott is aimed at putting pressure on those social media companies to do more to protect it’s users.

“We know that Saturday’s game is an important one and we understand that supporters will wait to see plenty of content around the match day. We will be pushing content through the club website and on our YouTube channel throughout the weekend and using our email database.”
